Well! We are IN the Roseland house finally! I can hardly believe it. And we sold our home on Carnival Terrace at the absolute perfect time. I’m really not sure how it all worked out so well but I can’t take any of the credit, it was definitely planned perfectly by someone above. :)

People have been asking to see photos of the house, but I can’t give a true before/after representation until I have things “just so,” and who knows how long that will be?! So I thought I would just take after photos as we get settled, and the first space that I want to share is the kitchen. I.LOVE.THIS.KITCHEN. Wow… I don’t think I even realized how drastic the before and after was until I saw the photos side-by-side. Every single person who comes in says how much they love the backsplash, it’s seriously breathtaking and I’m SO glad I splurged (just a little). It’s a stock item from LOWE’S too in case anyone is in the market!

The countertops we decided on are quartz, specifically Cambria Stone and the color Torquay. I wanted marble but it’s just not practical in a kitchen, so quartz it is!

The flooring is from Home Depot’s Home Decorator’s Collection and I LOVE it.  The stools are from Target and the faucet’s are by Danze.  All of our appliances are from the Frigidaire Gallery Collection.  Our cabinet are by J&K Cabinetry from Ultimate Cabinet Supplies in Roseland, and the knobs and pulls are from Home Depot.

Stay tuned for more rooms as I get a chance to snap some photos! :)  Can’t believe we’re here, pinch me!

Ahhhh Mad Men… ahhh Jon Hamm.  Last night was the beginning of the end of the iconic series.  I’m sad to say goodbye to Don Draper and the rest of the Mad Men cast.  I haven’t watched from the beginning, I admit I binge watched the entire series about a year ago at the same time my Mom did.  After every episode she would exclaim, “OMG, we had that same sofa, and the same juice glasses, the same bed sheets!”  The set designers did an amazing job portraying the era…  Mid-century modern design holds a place in my heart as well.  In my early architectural design classes at UF, I was drawn to the design of that era, studying many architects’ work such Frank Lloyd Wright and Le Corbusier.

So as an ode to Mad Men and mid-century modern design I put together a little collage of some great MCM pieces I found on Charish, a website where design lovers can buy and sell amazing vintage furniture.  It was so fun browsing around their site looking for amazing pieces and accessories that when put together, make a space Don Draper would feel right at home in.

And just for all our our viewing pleasure… the man himself.  Stay tuned this week for more mid-century modern interiors and if I’m ambitious, maybe even a Betty Draper inspired outfit.
