I had the pleasure of planning and hosting a bridal shower for my almost sister-in-law this past weekend. If you saw the inspiration I posted last week you can see that I stuck to my botanical, black & white stripe and gold detail ideas. I love a cute dessert table and thought heart shaped wreaths hung above would be adorable… Jill at the Pink Pelican of course could read my mind and created them perfectly along with the centerpiece for the food table. My amazing friend created the cookies, I swear, I show her my preliminary ideas and she makes the sweet treats compliment everything per.fect.ly. Frosting baked the amazingly delicious cake and cupcakes and Classy Cupcakes made the equal parts pretty and delicious macarons.
To go with the botanical theme I thought it would be nice to give each guest a potted succulent. The always amazing Minted provided the adorable custom journal that I used as a recipe / guest book. Everyone brought a recipe or two to share with the future newlyweds.
For the food I thought it would best to hire a professional… Wild Thyme Catering provided the seafood cakes, Jamaican jerk meatballs and stuffed mushrooms. It was so convenient to pick them up, pop them in the oven and serve. I whipped up a baked brie and veggie platter and my Mom made her delicious cheese dip. The bride’s favorite cocktail is a lemon drop so I decided to mix up a champagne lemonade cocktail. It was definitely a hit, light and refreshing.
