Kelly’s Pastel Baby Shower

I had the honor of hosting one of my best friend’s baby showers over the weekend! She’s having a baby girl in about 6 weeks and her name is going to be Abby. : ) I obviously love planning little get togethers and when it’s to celebrate something as wonderful as a new baby, it makes it evens sweeter.

I found the invitation design on Etsy and was able to use the graphics to make some coordinating pieces including a bookplate that was included with each invitation. Everyone brought a children’s book (Kelly loves to read) to start Abby’s book collection.

The tassels are tissue paper poms (down below) are from Etsy as well. The cookies and cake pops were made by my talented friend Maria of mariaVcreative. The adorable cake was made by my favorite local bakery, Frosting in Vero Beach.

Since I had a few book inspired ideas for the shower, I decided to do a little craft project for the favors. I purchased the felt flowers and leaves on Etsy and glued them to large paper clips to be used as bookmarks. I also designed some sticky note pads (ordered from Vista Print) to include with the little flower bookmarks.

The menu included quiche – broccoli & bacon, ham & cheese, and Greek; cucumbers with herbed cream cheese, mini muffins, fruit skewers and fruit & yogurt parfaits with granola. I always get nervous about serving food, will there be enough? Will everyone like what’s being served? The answer to both of these questions was YES, with plenty left over as well!

Kelly received tons of useful and thoughtful gifts for her little girl. I’m so happy I had the honor of hosting a baby shower for her, especially since she threw one for me when I was pregnant with my daughter almost four years ago!

Baby Shower Invitations

I’m planning a baby shower for one of my closet friends in a few weeks, I can’t wait! I love throwing little parties, making cute dessert tables and getting together with friends. And when it’s to celebrate something as wonderful as a new baby, it makes it even more special! Here are the invitations I found for the shower, via Etsy. I was able to make a couple coordinating pieces to print and include with the invitation and I think they came out super cute! Stay tuned for more shower details in the next couple of weeks!

Amelia’s 2nd Birthday

I actually wasn’t planning on having a 2nd birthday party for Amelia but my best friend reminded me how much fun I had last year and I decided, what the heck, she’s only turning 2 once, right? Amelia has always loved cookies, or “cook cooks” as she used to call them, so I decided on a milk and cookies theme. Credits are at the bottom of the post! The amazing On to Baby blog featured her party on their site, it looked adorable. : )

Amelia’s First Birthday Party

I think I’ll start off by sharing the first little party I really put some thought into, my daughter Amelia’s 1st birthday party. I didn’t want a true theme per se, I just wanted it to be cute and sweet, like my Amelia Kate. I started by making a fabric banner that I had seen online, and from there I added pink and aqua details. On to Baby featured Amelia’s 1st birthday party on their adorable blog. : )
