Party Theme Ideas

October 25, 2012 — 2 Comments

Amelia’s birthday is December 9th and I’m just now starting to think about her party… in the past I’ve started planning 4 months before haha.  In the past I’ve kept the parties small with just family and a few of our friends but this year I think I’m going to expand to some of her kid friends from school.  Having it at a park seems like a good idea but I’m struggling with a theme.  My first thought was to do an Ice Cream theme with a toppings buffet… but… it’s December.  It would be perfect if it’s a normal Florida December day, but what if there’s a random cold front.  Who would want to eat ice cream in the park on a coldish day?  Here were some ice cream party ideas I thought were cute…

My friend Maria who makes amazingly creative sweets had an adorable idea to do a Hot Air Balloon theme.  The first thought that popped into our heads was a big basket with balloons that kids could climb into for photos.  What do you think about these ideas?

I’m completely open to any ideas for a theme… thoughts?  (Please see my Pinterest board to find the original images).

  1. I actually have a question. Do you know where I can find a step-by-step tutorial for the adorable hanging ice cream come decorations? I know they are made of material, paper, styrofoam balls, etc. I just need an idea of the measurements for the material and step by step picture directions if possible.
    Thank you in advance.
    Have a blessed day,
    Mauri
